A review of 2025

Looking back on my freelance work over the last year shows a subtle change in my working. I used to spend most of my time editing manuscripts, this has shifted and I now spend much more time writing manuscripts from scratch. Even with this shift I have been keeping as busy as ever. Writing journal articles is something I think I will always enjoy, it requires a much deeper understanding of the research than the knowledge needed during an edit. This opens up a lot of exciting science. So, I have learnt a lot this year.

I wonder if this shift away from editing is due to AI? AI tools are certainly very useful for editing, as long as you have a qualified eye to check everything over!
